The Campaign

THE ONLY WAY OUT CAMPAIGN

At first, all I wanted to do was put my manuscript into print. Now that I have it in my hands and have begun to receive feedback and motivational prompts from people, my vision is so much greater.

THE MESSAGE

In a time of struggle, challenge, adversity or vulnerability, no positive progress can be made until we talk. Whether we talk directly to our perpetrator, a figure of authority, a parent, a relative, a friend or even ourselves, speaking about it is the first step. Nothing can or will change without words. Talking is The Only Way Out.

THE GOALS

1)  Get The Only Way Out into as many hands as possible.
2)  Meaningfully contribute to anti-bullying and mental health causes.

THE "WHY"

Because our youth and young adults are important groups of people whose health, happiness and future paths will shape the next phase of the world.

Because bullying, cyberbullying, internet safety and mental health are frighteningly pertinent issues faced by many.

Because I want to make a positive social impact.

Because I hope and dream that mine is a story capable of touching lives and evoking change – even small.

THE PLAN

I’m working tirelessly to spread the word.

This includes:

  • Aligning myself and the book with likeminded individuals
  • Connecting with schools, libraries, educators and influencers
  • Building relationships with parents and parent associations who believe in the message
  • Doing speaking engagements
  • Bringing brand ambassadors onboard
  • Connecting with students who want to be a voice for the campaign
  • Sharing and telling real-life stories where progress has been made
  • Accepting media spots to talk about the book and its message
  • Building a strong following online
THE TIMELINE

#talkingistheonlywayout starts now. I’m preparing and gearing up to be part of the awareness and the solution for Anti-bullying Day in Canada – also known as Pink Shirt Day – happening on February 23, 2022.

Making a huge change might be complex, but the start of that change is simple.

Talk.
Speak up.
Be there for yourself.
Be there for someone else.

Let’s do it together.
